About Boya

I love porcelain. A realization that came to meet me on the path I took in 2000. Boya is the nickname my grandmother used for me. She is the one who brought me into the world of porcelain and the rituals of the table.
The meaning I find today is in uncovering porcelain's value now. Handwork, the calm of touch — these have become more vital than ever in human history. Gathering around the table, moments of stillness, reflection. All of it finds deeper meaning today in porcelain's quiet force. The joining of what is fragile and, like stone, strong.
Wisdom is born of love, of the resolve to be uncompromisingly gentle, of accepting the passing of life and the strength of what we leave behind. We learn wisdom through porcelain.
